Advantages of Electric Hoist

Higher Durability

Electric hoists can serve you for several years if well maintained. A regular inspection schedule helps to keep the machine in good shape, especially when frequently used.

01

Versatility

They allow you to lift heavy loads vertically as well as pull the load sideways. The electric hoist offers you both vertical and horizontal movement which adds to its functionality.

02

Less Noise

The noise generated by an electric machine during operations isn’t as high as that created by the hydraulic and manual hoists. This makes for a more comfortable working environment.

03

Pendant-Free Operation

With an electric hoist, you are able to install a remote control system. This allows the operator to lift and lower heavy loads from safe distances using the remote transmitter.

04

Small Footprint for Tight Spaces

Being powered by electricity, you will not need to install big compressors and piping to power your hoist. Sufficient power source and a few cables are much more appropriate for smaller environments with tight spaces.

Application of Electric Hoist

Manufacturing Sector
In the manufacturing sector, electric hoists are indispensable for their ability to handle heavy materials efficiently. They facilitate seamless workflow by speeding up the transportation of goods across the production floor.

Construction Industry
Electric hoists can operate in harsh environmental conditions, making them ideal for construction sites. They ensure that large, cumbersome materials such as steel beams and concrete slabs are moved with precision, which is critical for maintaining structural integrity during building processes.

Electric Hoist Operation Requirements

1. It is strictly forbidden to overload the hoisting operation. Don't pass the hoisted objects over the heads of other operators.

2. Don't use the buffer and the stop collision frequently to achieve the purpose of stopping during normal operation. Do not adjust the brake during lifting operation.

3. It is not allowed to carry out lifting operations when the lifting weight is unclear, such as lifting and pulling buried objects and inclined pulling operations.

4. Do not dismantle or modify any safety ring device on the electric hoist crane at will.

5. Pay attention to whether the hook is directly above the load. Pay attention to the safety of the front, back, left, and right directions during operation.

6. When a heavy object drops to a distance of 300mm from the ground, stop and observe whether it is safe to descend.

7. When turning the lifting load, the operator must stand on the opposite side of the turning direction and make sure that there is no other operator in the turning direction before moving.

FAQ

Q: Why is my electric hoist going down but not up?

A: Check the power supply: Ensure that the hoist is receiving adequate power supply. Check the electrical connections, circuit breakers, and fuses to make sure everything is in working order. Inspect the hydraulic system: The hydraulic system is responsible for lifting the hoist.

Q: Is electric hoist required to be tested?

A: The static test must be carried out with the 1.25-fold nominal load (125 %). This essentially serves to check the load-bearing structure and brake. During the static test it may occur that the clutch of your electric chain hoist slips a little or that the 1.25-fold nominal load cannot be lifted.

Q: Can I use an electric hoist to pull horizontally?

A: While an electric hoist is primarily designed for vertical lifting, it can also be used for horizontal pulling tasks with the appropriate accessories and setup.

Q: What is the difference between manual and electric hoist?

A: Electric hoists offer increased efficiency, improved control, and higher lifting capacities, making them well-suited for heavy-duty applications. On the other hand, manual hoists are more portable, affordable, and suitable for lighter loads and occasional use.

Q: What is the load chain of an electric hoist?

A: Load chain is a specific type of chain that is used in electric chain hoists, pneumatic hoists, and manual chain hoists, aka come-alongs. It is specifically designed to lift loads vertically and move through the lifting mechanism without kinking or tangling.

Q: What is the difference between electric winch and electric hoist?

A: If you require horizontal pulling or lifting capabilities, an electric winch may be more suitable. If you require precise vertical lifting capabilities, an electric hoist would be the better choice. Load Capacity: Determine the maximum weight of the loads that will be lifted or pulled.

Q: How does an electric hoist work?

A: The lifting action begins when the operator activates the hoist motor. This motor includes a brake that controls the motor's operation or holds the load in place by applying the necessary torque. During lifting, the brake continuously releases power to manage the vertical movement of the load.

Q: What is the duty cycle of a electric hoist?

A: Duty cycle is one of the most important factors for choosing an electric hoist for your application. A duty cycle for a hoist is basically the amount of work the hoist can perform in an hour. Choosing the incorrect hoist can cause safety issues, reduced productivity and more downtime.
